i’ve been thinking about borrowing this movie from the dvd club i’m in, but i’m not sure how much fun it’ll be without vic.
Mostly Martha
Although the Germans may not be noted for their fine cuisine — we’re reminded too often of sauerkraut, heavy dumplings, and wienerschnitzel — a new note has been struck by first-time feature director Sandra Nettelbeck in her film Mostly Martha. It’s difficult sometimes to accept that erotic films can be made which show no graphic sex. Aren’t our surface expectations so grounded in blatant porn that we anxiously await that explosion of bare skin and genitalia entwining? We do. And that’s our loss.
